About Rachel
I'm a self taught artist from Shropshire and I specialise in painting the natural world, which I have a passion for. Wildlife, flowers, landscapes and animals are my source of inspiration.
I love painting in watercolour, pastels, acrylics, mixed media and pencils and find it an enjoyable challenge, painting purely to please myself as I like to choose subjects that I get the most pleasure from, this includes flowers on a sunny day, wildlife that fills me with joy and observing landscapes that act as a positive therapy to my senses such as a walk through the woods, the changing of the seasons and the solitude of meadows and seascapes.
I am a very keen wildlife gardener, feeling proud that my garden attracts regular visits from Hedgehogs, Squirrels and Foxes, plus toads, newts, frogs and a lovely variety of birds, butterflies and moths.
Like everyone in 2020, the pandemic had been a challenge, however on the positive side, it has enabled me to devote more time to this hobby I love so much and to turn my hobby into my dream career.
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
